"Seal the Damp" is a family business specialising in damp proofing, addressing issues such as rising damp, salt problems, and more.

the first step is a survey

We'll schedule a convenient site visit, and we can talk about a time and date that works best for you. Our detailed survey will uncover the issues at hand, and we'll provide a comprehensive explanation of our findings.

Following the survey, we'll find the most effective treatments/systems to address your concerns and give you a competitive estimate for the required work. You should expect a detailed email outlining the proposed work and the systems we plan to install.

Rising Damp Injections

Our comprehensive injection system involves drilling into your brickwork with careful spacing along the mortar line. Typically done at the damp-proof course (DPC) level, this may vary based on outside ground levels and other factors. Following the drilling, we inject special cream into the small holes.

Over a short time, the cream permeates the mortar, creating a damp-proof barrier against rising damp. This process is adaptable for both interior and exterior walls, depending on factors around your property. We conduct this work inside and outside your property, ensuring minimal disruption and mess. The choice between interior, exterior, or both is determined by specific factors related to your property.

Our injection system is designed for efficiency, completing the work in just a few hours. Whether installed externally or internally, our process leaves minimal evidence, ensuring you hardly notice our presence. For external installations, we always re-point any mortar holes. If the injection is carried out from inside the building, we ensure all holes are discreetly made good, as additional work is considered in most cases.

Whether inside or outside, we always restore the area after completing the work, ensuring a clean and tidy finish on your property.

Mesh membrane system for damp walls & salt

We apply this system to your walls, typically reaching a height of approximately 1m. However, in certain instances, we may extend it to 1.2m or even install it from floor to ceiling, depending on the specific walls affected. Our method involves using a high-grade membrane securely fastened to your walls. This is achieved by drilling holes and using damp-proofing pins, ensuring a secure attachment while maintaining a damp-proof seal around each drilled hole.

To reinforce the integrity of the installation, we employ fully damp-proof tape for any joins on the membrane. The process is completed by sealing the bottom of the membrane with a floor joint seal. With the application of this system, your walls are now completely damp and salt-free, ready for the final stage of making good with fresh plaster and skirting.

Once the walls are fully dry, you have the freedom to paint them. Now, you can relax and enjoy the comfort of your dry and warm home, reassured that your damp problems have been effectively resolved.
